What if Amsterdam was located in Napa?

You would get modern California warmth.

Merus Wines, located in the Napa Valley, approached UXUS Design, based in Amsterdam, to create a space that would enhance the vintners high end brand and stand out among the many tasting rooms in the Valley.

What UXUS has created is a perfect balance between warmth and modern sophistication.

A private tasting room.

A private tasting room.

The stones and rough flooring make a interesting contract to the high gloss enamel of the table.  The mis-matched chairs add to the tasting room’s charm.

The cellar.

The cellar.

The earthy feel and warm tones of cellar help the three linear chandeliers command the room.

Warm ceramic lights in a modern design are pitch perfect.

Each vignette is a joining of warm and modern, creating a unique space that enhances the high end position of the wine.

UXUS, see the website here, is on the leading edge of space branding.  Their approach to a space is not about racks and shelves but how the space makes you feel and motivates you to buy.

Thanks for posting this. I am the designer of the Merus brand identity, packaging and overall visual center. George, Erika and Oliver (UXUS) are still close friends, and it’s a thrill to see Merus come to life at the tasting room. Appreciate the post!!
